Recreate the look of live flames — with water!

Our mist and water vapour electric fireplaces give you the power to create the look of real fire, without combustion. With this innovative technology, regular tap water is transformed into cool mist. When that mist is lit from below, the illusion of live flames is created. Our water vapour fireplaces are not producing steam, so the mist ‘flames’ are perfectly safe, and will not burn stray fingers. The mist moves and reacts to air currents just as real fire would, so it gives the most realistic flame appearance of any electric fireplace. Some of our water vapor fireplaces allow you to leave the flames open, with no glass, while others offer a glass front. Water vapour electric fireplaces come in many configurations, and can be designed as single-sided linear fireplaces, see-through fireplaces, or multi-sided fireplaces. Some of the mist electric fireplaces are modular, so that you can design a fireplace of any size, a particular favourite for condo lobbies.

There are several variations of the mist or water vapour electric fireplaces, and while the flames are similar, other features are unique to each model.

All of the electric fireplaces with mist flames require a water connection, to keep the water reservoirs full. While some of them have refillable water bottles inside the reservoirs, these are not easily reached when there is a glass front. We recommend that there always be a plumbing line on these fireplaces.

Heaters are built-in to some of the electric fireplaces with mist flames, while others have optional heaters that may be connected to the base unit. Heat output varies greatly on the water vapour fireplaces, so be sure to check your heating requirements and match them to the fireplace.

Coloured accent lighting, and changing flame colours, have been added to newer models of the water vapor fireplaces. However, there are several models that are limited to a natural flame colour, with no accent colours. Of course, even if the fireplace comes with accent lighting, you do not have to use it.

While a glass front enclosure is assumed on most electric fireplaces, the mist fireplaces do not necessarily have a glass front. There are modular units for which glass is not an option. On the latest models with glass fronts, there’s even a defogging feature to keep the glass clear, should the mist condense on the glass.
